What better way to finish your week than with #SaintLaurent most-coveted handbags?
This season’s New Arrivals see timeless elegance and sophisticated-boho attitude. We have curated the most coveted pieces from the Spring-Summer 2017, where luxury encounters revolutionary casual styles.
If you desire a handbag to elevate any of your outfits, don’t look any further, the Saint Laurent Monogramme Fetish is the one for you. Its rebel-chic feel will take you from work to play with a subversive cool attitude.
You may already know this satchel in Suede, but we personally had a coup de coeur for the Nappa leather one. Nappa is a premium-grade full grain leather – here 100% calfskin – that has been tanned and drummed to give as a result a strong and durable material with a soft feel.
We love its shiny gold color, on which iconic YSL ‘monogram’ logo stands out, raised in a matching gold-toned metal. To contrast with this glamorous-gleaming body, the shoulder strap is made of a very simple knotted lustrous-black rope. It crosses under the bag’s flap and spans it with an eyeleted topstich design, finishing with a hanging Saint Laurent’s signature tassel.
The Medium size of this satchel is perfect to fit a wallet, a phone and a few beauty products for a light touch-up during a late-night outing. The bag’s interior is lined in black Suede leather and split into two main compartments and a card slot.
To keep your bag bright and glossy, be careful not to use aggressive products such as solvent near the item: it could matifiy the shiny leather finish in case of contact.
It is also recommended to always lay your leather bag on a soft – or at least plain – surface (and obviously never on the floor) to limit the risks of abrasion and scratching.
In the latest style orientations taken by Hedi Slimane, and followed by Anthony Vaccarello, we notice a strong retro feel, as a tribute to the past of Saint Laurent couture house. The bag’s collections are no exception, with some of their designs directly inspired from the house’s archives, such as the Small Y Studs Bucket bag, a modern version of a Saint Laurent’s 1970s style.
With a Fox brown supple Suede body and tasseled drawstring ties, this bag carries a bohemian, free-spirited mood.
Suede leather indicates the underside of the skin (for this bag, calfskin) that is buffed and brushed to bring up a napped, fine-velvet-like finish with a very soft touch. As it does not include the tough exterior skin layer, the Suede leather is also very light, thin and pliable.
On this bag, the Suede leather body is embellished with antique-gold toned studs, shaping a large Y letter on the front and a row of smaller ones on the bottom, as a discreet hint to the house creator’s initials. The YSL signature also appears as a metal charm comprised in one of the tassels.
The Small Bucket shape of this bag is very convenient to store your everyday goods in a large, unique compartment. The grosgrain lining makes this bag resistant, despite the delicateness of the leather.
Thanks to the adjustable shoulder strap, you are free to sling the bag over your shoulder or carry it cross-body.
Due to its textured nature, the Suede leather will slightly change over time and gain character – just like good wine. If you want to keep it brand new for a longer time, it is better to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Also be careful with rain and other liquids that can be absorbed by the open pores of this leather.
A Suede eraser can be used to clean stains or refresh darkened zones (handles, bottom, etc), always after being tested on a small hidden part of the bag.
Exciting times! Prada handbags have just arrived at COSETTE 😀
Let’s get to know the ins and outs of Prada’s latest bags collection, with a close-up on our 3 favourites.
Let’s begin with a very distinguishable piece from the Prada Pre-Fall 2017: the Cahier bag, made of 100% Madras Goat Leather. The Madras leather is a light and soft type of goatskin, obtained by special finishing procedures, secret techniques of Prada House. We adore the feel of it, but we love even more the retro design of the Cahier, part of the Fil Rouge and ‘nonconformist’ positioning of the collection.
Everything about this bag takes inspiration in antique books. Its notebook shape – of course – but also its beautiful embellishment with contrasting floral embroidery, emphasized with a lace closure on the front. We can’t help but notice the vintage finish of its bronze hardware and raised lettering, a pure delight for the eyes.
Last but not least, the exquisite embellished shoulder strap is detachable, taking you easily from day to night. Its compact yet roomy size won’t let you down either as the two main leather-finished compartments will fit all your lady-like essentials. So perfect!
To maintain your Madras Goat leather Cahier bag in brand-new condition, be careful not to snag the embroidery fabric on a sharp or rough object. If you would like to clean it, please only use a dry cloth, as leather-care products may damage the hardware.
Because a Prada review wouldn’t be complete without an Iconic Saffiano tote, I have chose to introduce the timeless Saffiano and City Calf leather Bibliothèque Bag. Its name (‘bookshelf’ in French) is inspired by the bag’s elegant concertina sides, as their shapes remind the book’s edges aligned on a shelf.
‘Saffiano’ refers to the designer’s signature leather finish: the highest quality calfskin is coated with wax and pressed by a machine with a crosshatch print to create this unique and durable texture. On this staple Prada bag, the Saffiano leather body is combined with smooth City calf leather sides and handles to make it soft and pleasant in hand.
The Prada Bibliothèque is a perfect all-purpose bag: with a classic and ageless black-and-white style, it can be carried by the handles as a classy handbag, or more practically on the shoulder thanks to the thin removable shoulder strap. Its size is also adaptable as the concertina-shaped sides can be expanded or reduced by using snap tabs.
The bag’s interior is divided into three compartments. The two main ones are opened while the middle one is secured with a concealed magnetic tap flap closure. The lining is 100% made of black Nappa leather, contrasting with the whiteness of the bag’s exterior and the gold colour of the raised designer lettering. A true beauty.
Saffiano leather is very easy to take care of, as its texture is naturally resistant to stains and scratches. If it needs to be cleaned, just wipe it with a soft cloth to gently remove dust and dirt. Saffiano leather has the particularly to be water repellent, but it is always better for the bag to use a dry cloth rather than a wet one.
The Esplanade Zig Zag bag will bring a refreshing sport and cute accent, with a great colour scheme to any outfit. Once again, Miuccia Prada played with a tactile combination of textures, adorning the City calf leather body with Saffiano details.
This is a “have-fun-handbag” on which you can remove or not the accessories it caries (shoulder strap, key-ring clochette, ID hang tag, designer-branded lock) but the most playful part would be adding your own charms (we love the Fendi Peekaboos) to match its Zig-Zag pattern and Prada-logo-lining at its best. An absolute statement.
Always keep in mind that calfskin is water resistant but not waterproof. If you would like to use some leather cleaning, conditioning or protecting products on your bag, don’t forget to ask a professional to advise you according to the leather type. Plus, never try a new product directly on the item. You may use the leather swatch provided with the authenticity documents or test it on a small hidden corner of the handbag.

I am delighted to introduce one of my favourite brands which my girlfriends and I have been wearing in Paris since its debut: IRO.
Founded in 2005 by Parisian brothers Laurent and Arik Bitton, IRO is since bringing “the essence of music to Fashion” for the assertive and cool women.
Unapologetically bold and Rock’n Roll in their approach, the two designers spread nonchalant vibes with a vintage feel that creates the brand’s signature.
I absolutely adore! And I’m not the only one as Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrimore, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid & Hailey Baldwin are frequently spotted wearing iconic IRO pieces.
Wether you’re headed to an exhibition, a dinner with your girls or to a stylish concert, get in touch with your wild side.
In case you’d be tempted, the whole collection is now available in our 3 boutiques.
‘It’s all about the attitude. At the end of the day, everybody wants to seduce someone, be loved by someone, and be socialised, in one way or another.’
OK we got it, winter has settled.
It gets dark early, it gets cold and most of the time, we would rather spend the whole day at home, snuggling and cocooning in the most luxurious fabric ever: cashmere.
But before we all settle into our winter slump, let me share with you my fav cashmere inspirations that lead me to shop for you – in Paris – the most beautiful (and affordable) knit collection by Fine Paris.
Cashmere is also at COSETTE! Visit our stores to discover our winter collection.
At COSETTE, new season means new collection.
To welcome the arrival of winter properly, we gave our stores a little face-lift.
Wools, cashmere, fur and leather pieces are waiting for you to wrap in. And to adorn your warm winter outfits, you can always find the best matching designer bags – or should you find the best winter outfit to match your designer bag?
Let me share with you some pictures of our Double Bay boutique.
I love the area around (oh hey Pelicano!) as much as the store’s sunny location. When sunrays cross the windows and light up the boutique, it reminds me that it is now summertime in Paris – feeling beautiful!
